Within my research group at the Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI) at TU Dresden, the following position is available:
(Junior) Postdoc (m/f/d) – Deadline: August 10, 2025 (extended)
- Assignment: Professorship for Scalable Software Architectures for Data Analytics (Prof. Dr. Michael Färber)
- Research areas: Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, Knowledge Graphs, and related fields (e.g., Graph Machine Learning)
- Location: ScaDS.AI, TU Dresden, Germany
- Start date: As soon as possible; the initial contract is for up to 2 years (extension possible). A shorter contract term can be arranged if desired.
- Remuneration: TV-L E13 (100%)
Tasks:
- Conducting independent research in the above research areas, with the goal of publishing and presenting at top-tier (CORE A) conferences and journals.
- Supporting the supervision and mentoring of PhD students
- Initiating and writing research grant proposals
- Collaborating on national and international research projects, including potential partnerships with industry
- Participating in teaching activities (e.g., seminars; no foundational lectures)
Requirements:
- A completed or imminent PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Linguistics or a closely related field
- A strong publication record in one or more of the above research areas
- Hands-on experience with AI (NLP/ML) model development, ideally in an HPC environment
- A strong passion for publishing scientific research and applying for research grants
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
